Guitar Rig Mobile and Sonuus G2M

Guitar gadgets, don’t they just make your heart wanna sing?

Ah well me neither but when you see stuff like these too little gadgets coming out you gotta admit it’s pretty damn cool.

First off the Guitar Rig Mobile at under £80 is pretty sweet indeed – The M-Audio Jamlab is only a few quid cheaper and they are becoming hard to find. And the Jamlab’s software is nowhere comparable with Guitar Rigs.

The Guitar Rig Mobile is a USB Input and Output device and is USB powered – Remember you’ll need headphones and possibly a speaker – if you’re getting this for a laptop then I’d recomend something small and powerful.

It comes with Guitar Rig 3 LE. Latencey is apparently good – take into account the age of your laptop though

Standard guitar jack input and 1/4″ output for headphones or lineout.

At the price it seems more than reasonable and if you’ve heard of Guitar Rig then you’ll know it’s worth the punt.

The Sonuus G2M is a device I’ve seem advertised quite a lot over the last month.

And man I want one.

Sonuus G2M Guitar to Midi Interface

Sonuus G2M Universal Guitar To MIDI Converter $99 @ Musicians Friend

A guitar to midi convertor – plug your guitar in and it will convert monophonic notes into midi data.

‘Monophonic’ – means individual notes.

How cool would that be? You could play violin with a guitar – dependent on software/hardware that is.

It’s got a boost for weak pickups and a built in tuner.

By all acounts it works well and I might just have to get myself one.
