The following illustrations have been created to show guitarists how to identify notes in regards the notes on a guitar neck – using the C Major scale we can create ourselves a solid reference point.
Below is how the piano roll equates to the guitar notes of C Major scale.
The scale C3 -> C4
Once we are comfortable with this we can transpose notes higher and lower to acheive notes further up the neck.
The scales below are different positions of the above scale and as such the notes relate the same way. For example: The 8th fret on the Bottom E string is Middle C the same fretting the 3rd fret on the A string.
